Steps
- 1
Gather all the ingredients.
- 2
Set aside 1 cup of the milk (from the total amount) to dissolve the cornstarch.
- 3
In a pot, add the remaining milk, orange peels, and cinnamon sticks.
- 4
Heat over medium until it comes to a boil, then remove from heat, cover, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 5
Dissolve the cornstarch in the reserved cup of milk, stirring well to avoid lumps.
- 6
After 15 minutes, remove the orange peels and cinnamon sticks from the milk.
- 7
Return the pot to the heat, add the sugar, and mix well.
- 8
When the milk starts to boil, add the cornstarch mixture and stir constantly until it thickens and comes to a boil again. Then remove from heat.
- 9
The mixture should be thick.
- 10
Pour the mixture into a well-greased square pan.
- 11
Place plastic wrap directly on the surface to prevent a skin from forming. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
- 12
After chilling, run a knife around the edges and unmold onto a tray. Cut into equal pieces.
- 13
To fry: Prepare 2 beaten eggs, cornstarch for coating, a tray with paper towels, and a mixture of sugar and cinnamon for coating the fried pieces.
- 14
Heat sunflower oil in a skillet.
- 15
Coat each piece in cornstarch, then dip in beaten egg, and fry in the hot oil.
- 16
Fry on both sides until golden, then place on paper towels to drain.
- 17
Coat the fried pieces in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- 18
Let cool.
- 19
Delicious! Ready to eat!
