Mahamri #authorsmarathon#

Mahamri, an any time delicacy, as a snack, or as part of a meal.....mbaazi, viazi rojo, maharagwe ya nazi, cabbage, etc......for breakfast, lunch or supper......well enjoyed with a cup of tea, black or with milk.
I used water instead of coconut milk.
Pardon me, today I forgot to take the step by step photos.
Enjoy!

Steps
- 1
In a dry bowl, sieve your flour. Add in the sugar, yeast, cardamom and cinnamon and mix well. Now add your 100mls oil, and mix in well while rubbing the flour in between your palms..
- 2
Slowly, add the warm water, little by little as you kneed. Continue until you get a not so soft or too hard dough. Continue Kneeding for 10minutes then cut the dough to make 6 or 8 equal sized balls. Place then in a dusted tray, and cover them with a wet warm towel for 15 to 20 minutes, to allow them to raise.
- 3
Now roll one ball flat to 1/4 an each thickness, and cut into the shape you want, circle or triangle most. Place them in a dusted tray and do the same to the rest of the balls.
- 4
When done with cutting the shapes, heat your cooking oil in a deep frying pan. When sure that the oil is hot, and the fire is medium heat, start dropping the shapes, taking note on starting with the first ones to be cut first, the last ones last so as to give them more time to raise. Cook each side for 2 to 3 minutes, when you get the desired brown colour, you now remove them and place them in a tray to cool.
- 5
Serve with a cup of black tea with cardamon flavour, and a plate of mbaazi. Enjoy.
