Oven-Baked Chicken My Way
I love oven-baked dishes and all kinds of chicken, whether roasted, grilled, or baked. With the need to get food on the table quickly for my family, I didn’t have time to decorate the dish nicely, but I hope you enjoy it!
Oven-Baked Chicken My Way
I love oven-baked dishes and all kinds of chicken, whether roasted, grilled, or baked. With the need to get food on the table quickly for my family, I didn’t have time to decorate the dish nicely, but I hope you enjoy it!
Steps
- 1
Chop the onion into small pieces.
- 2
In a deep pot, add the onion with a little oil and sauté over heat until golden.
- 3
Add water to the pot until it’s halfway full and let it heat up slightly, then add the chicken breasts (or chicken breasts and legs, if you prefer).
- 4
Add the following ingredients: salt to taste, a little black pepper, a little cilantro, a little ginger, a little Chinese kebab spice (or five-spice powder), a little nutmeg, a little mixed spices, 1 tablespoon white vinegar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1 chicken bouillon cube, 2 cardamom pods, and 2 whole cloves. Stir to combine and let the chicken cook thoroughly.
- 5
Cut the carrot, potato, green bell pepper, and tomato into small cubes. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it and place it on a plate or directly on a baking sheet.
- 6
Take 1 cup (240 ml) of the broth and put it in another pot. Add the chopped vegetables and cook over heat for 10 minutes until just tender.
- 7
Remove the vegetables and spread them evenly around and between the chicken on the baking sheet.
- 8
To the remaining hot broth in the pot where you cooked the vegetables, add the following: salt to taste, a little cilantro, a little black pepper, 1 tablespoon white vinegar, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, a little Chinese kebab spice (or five-spice powder), a little nutmeg, a little mixed spices, a little ginger, and about 1 chicken bouillon cube or slightly less.
- 9
Stir the mixture and pour it all over the baking sheet and on top of the chicken. Bake in the oven at 375–400°F (190–200°C) for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and, if you like, garnish with parsley, celery, or fresh cilantro. Enjoy!
