Ingredients

  1. 200 gmsrice
  2. 100 gmsmoong daal
  3. 2tomatoes chopped
  4. 2green chillies chopped
  5. 1 tspginger garlic paste
  6. 1medium size onion (cut into slices)
  7. 4black peppercorns
  8. 1black cardamom
  9. 1 inchcinnamon stick
  10. 1bay leaf
  11. 1 tspcumin seeds
  12. somecurry leaves
  13. 3 tbsp oil
  14. to tasteSalt
  15. 1 cupWater

Steps

  1. 1

    First we washed the Dal and soaked for 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Take a pressure cooker put it oil and heat it.add the whole garam masala and saute for 30 seconds. Now add onion and saute till it becomes translucent.

  3. 3

    Now add ginger garlic paste saute for few seconds.add Curry leaves,green chilli and tomatoes. saute them for 3-4minutes till the tomatoes become mushy now add the soaked Dal and saute for 2-3 minutes.

    Now add rice and add one cup water. stir and mix well and covered the lid and cooked till 3 whistles come.turn the flame and release the pressure.

  5. 5

    Your khichdi is ready serve with green chutni and curd.
