Hyderabadi delicious khichidi made with rice, masoor dal and aromat spices. And it is served with a tangy chutney called 'til ka katta' or katta.
Steps

Wash the rice,masoor dal or red lentil and soak in 5 glasses of water for 20 min.

Heat the deep bottom vessel along with oil and ghee.

Add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaf and allow to release aroma then add shahi jeera.

Add sliced onions and saute till the onions become translucent. Add ginger garlic paste and saute until the raw smell disappears.

Add turmeric powder and mix it well. Add curd and mix it well.

Add soaked rice and mix it well. Add water slitted green chillies,mint and coriander leaves.

Cook on high flame for 5 min,then reduce the flame and cook for 20 min.

Serve with til ka katta.(roasted sesame seeds onions,green chillies and tamarind pulp)
