Wash chana dal well and put it in a pressure cooker with some water, turmeric powder and salt. Pressure cook it for 3 whistles. Keep it aside.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and fry the boiled eggs till brown. Remove them from pan and set aside.

Add remaining oil into the same pan and add cumin seeds. When they splutter add chopped onion and saute till brown. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, chopped tomato and salt. Saute till oil leaves the sides of the pan. Add curry powder and saute for a minute.

Now add pressure-cooked dal and cook for 5 minutes.

Next add eggs and cook for a couple of minutes. Add garam masala powder, kasuri methi and chopped coriander leaves. Cover and remove from heat.

Serve hot with rice or roti.
