Melt butter and add the sultanas

Cut the crusts off the bread and dip in the melted butter on both sides and but diagonally (in triangles)

Arrange overlapping the slices in a casserole

Sprinkle more sultanas

For the custard sauce put milk and cream add vanilla and bring to boil slowly

Whisk the eggs and sugar together and add to the boiling liquid,leave to infuse for 5 mins before seiving

Pour the custard over the bread and sprinkle some nutmeg

Place in a brain Marie (put water in a pan then put the casserole in it) then put in a oven at 160

Bake for 45 mins

Garnish with fruits of your choice,then out it in the oven for another 5 mins you can brush some appricot jam.
