It has this rustic crusty exterior look (some people call it rustic bread) that made it perfect for dipping in soups and goes well with cheeses and herbs butter. In a bowl whisk in together the flour milk sugar and salt

In another bowl whisk in together the milk, melted butter yeast and egg

Add the dry ingredients in to the wet one and knead
- 4
Cover with a tea towel and allow it to rise

Knead the dough again and gently fold it in to a long cylindrical shape

Use a knife to slit the top this will allow the steam to escape

Cover and allow it to proof for 30 minutes then egg wash or yogurt wash and sprinkle sesame seeds on top

Fill your oven tray with a water and put it at the bottom line of the oven this will steam the oven notice the steam bubbles here

Bake the bread at the middle rack till it looks rusty

Brush it immediately with butter.this is perfect for dipping with soup (it will not soaked up Easily) especially French onion soup, or serve with cream
