Steps

Weigh and measure all ingredients and assemble in a working area.

In a medium bowl whisk flour with sugar and salt. Incorporate the batter using a pastry blender to form crumbs

Add water and stir until we incorporated

Divide the dough into 2,wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.

To make the filling. Slice the apples thinly and place in a large bowl,Add the sugar,cornstarch,cinnamon,nutmeg,lemon zest and juice

Toss to combine well

Preheat oven to 200degrees. Prepare a 9 inch pan.

On a floured Surface roll out one piece of dough into a circle. Carefully place the dough on the pan,press the edges and trim the excess dough

Add the apple mixture and refrigerate as you work on the the other dough

Roll out the other dough into a circle and place over the apples,press the edges and cut off the excess. Egg wash.

For the excess dough you can make patterns and place over the pie. I used snowflake cutter since its kinda snowing at the moment. Place on top and eggwash then sprinkle the sugar.

Bake for 20mins in the preheated oven. Then Wrap the pie crust edges with aluminum foil and reduce temperature to 180 and bake for 25_30mins.

Remove from the oven and let it cool for 1-3hrs before slicing

Enjoy with ice cream or cream cheese
