
Cooking Instructions

butter loaf pan, 9-5-3(do not use butter in recipe for this)
- 2
heat sugar, milk, cocoa, corn syrup and salt in 3 qt saucepan over med heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.

cook stirring occasionally, to 234* on candy thermometer or until soft ball stage(take a regular drinking cup fill half way with cold water pour a spoonful of candy into the water u should b able to form a softball that when u remove from the water will flatten)

remove from heat add butter, do not stir
- 5
cool without stirring to 120* ( bottom of pan will b lukewarm)
- 6
add vanilla, beat continuously with wooden spoon until candy is thick and no longer glossy, about 5 min.

spread in pan, cool until firm and cut into squares
