Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Ingredients

  1. 2 cupCrushed pretzels
  2. 3/4 cup(1 1/2 sticks) melted butter
  3. 3tablespoons, plus 3/4 cup of sugar
  4. 1 packages8 oz. cream cheese
  5. 18 oz. carton cool whip
  6. 2 packages3 oz. strawberry gelatin dessert mix
  7. 2 cupBoiling water
  8. 2 packages10 oz. frozen strawberries
  9. 1 canSmall crushed pineapple (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 400°.

    For the crust, mix the pretzels, butter, and 3 tablespoons sugar.

    Press this into a 9x13" pan.

    Bake for 7 minutes and set aside to cool.

    Beat together the cream cheese and 3/4 cup sugar.

    Fold in cool whip and spread over the cooled crust.

    Refrigerate until well chilled.

    Dissolve the gelatin dessert mix in boiling water; cool slightly.

    Add strawberries and pineapple, and pour over the cream cheese mixture.

    Refrigerate until serving time.
