Ingredients

  1. 1 cupmix dal
  2. 1small onion
  3. 4-5garlic cloves
  4. 2green chillies finely chopped
  5. 1 inchginger
  6. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  7. 1/4 tspasafoetida
  8. 1/4 tspturmeric
  9. as per tastesalt
  10. 1 tbspoil/clarified butter
  11. For masala-
  12. 5dried red chillies
  13. 1 tspcumin seeds
  14. 1 tspcoriander seeds

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak mix dal(split black gram, split green gram, chana dal, masoor dal and tur dal) for ½ hour. Then add onion, ginger and garlic pressure cook for 3-4 whistle. Open lid when pressure is reduced completely and mash well. Add water for desired consistency.

    Roast cumin, coriander and red chillies cool and grind to powder.

    Heat oil in tempering pan add cumin seed when splutter add chillies, asafoetida, turmeric powder and salt, saute for 2 minutes and temper to dal. Add 1 tsp masala powder and give one boil.
