Apple Pie Bars

This can be made regular or low carb. I made this one low carb. Measurements are the same whether you use bisquick and sugar or carbquick and Truvia. I am so pleased with this shortbread crust. I’m pleased with the whole thing! So easy and so good. This is exactly what I needed for an apple pie craving.

Cooking Instructions

Preheat oven to 350. In a bowl combine the first 3 ingredients thoroughly. I used a pastry cutter but use whatever you use for the task. Should resemble coarse crumbs. Reserve 1 cup and set aside.

Press the remaining 2 cups into an 8x8 pan or glass dish and allow to bake until set and slightly brown. About 10 minutes-ish.

In another bowl combine the apple pie filling with brown sugar and melted butter. Add cinnamon and allspice.

Pour apple mixture over your baked crust and spread your last cup of the flour mixture evenly over the top. Bake until brown, about 20 minutes or so. I put it on broil for a bit but watched it carefully.

I hand made some pastry, so I wanted to eat an apple pie flavored with lots of my favorite cinnamon.-Be careful not to burn your fingers when removing the plastic wrap after making the filling.-You can use broken castella cake because it will be covered with apple.
