Cooking Instructions

Take all the needed ingredients.

The quantity of rice and dal together we have 3/4cup. so for 1cup,take around 4.5cups of water including 1cup of milk.
If you want the pongal consistency as thick, we can add only 4 cups of water(including milk). - 3
In a pot or heavy bottom pan,add milk and water. Let it boil. Then add washed millet and dal. Cook in medium flame.

In the mean time,turn on the flame,in a bowl add jaggery and 1/2cup water. Let the jaggery dissolves into the water. And filter the syrup.

Within 20 to 25mts our pongal cooked completely. Add ghee and then add jaggery syrup,little by little. Mix well.

Jaggery syrup,well combined with pongal. After 2mts add crushed gardamom,salt and mix.

In dhadka pan,fry cashews and raisins in ghee. Add the fried nuts into sweet pongal and mix well. Then turned off the flame.

Thatsall. Our kodo Millet Sweet Pongal is ready.
