easy lazy cake

I made this today as I had a number of things going out of date. You can make your own sponge cake or simply just buy a ready made one as I did. I used ready made sponge cake already because I was having one of my lazy kitchen days. Wanted some kind of dessert with minimal effort. This is it!

This is a fig version of a fruit butter cake that came from my British mother-in-law who makes it with prunes.The original prune version tasted so delicious, so I looked for a good fruit substitute in Japan, and found figs to be the perfect fit!Since fresh fruit is used to bake this cake, it is also delicious on the day it is baked.The cake becomes more moist the next day, adding another level of delight. I don't remember where I found this recipe, but its super easy and yummy.

Fluffy roll cakes taste great but the sponge tends to break quite easily so I improved the recipe and made it moist as well.Please adjust the amount of cream you use to your taste (I have a bit left over when I prepare 150 ml).When rolling the sponge, make sure you start with a tightly rolled center so that you can end up with a neater shape. This recipe is great for breakfast! My kids love it with a big glass of milk! Its so simple and fast. i love how u can switch up the toppings each time!

I found this recipe on Pinterest and I swear by this stuff. There wasn't any amount of cooking spray that I could spray on my pans to get my cakes to release, but you don't have to worry when it comes to this stuff! It doesn't require a lot and it will last a while. I use a rubber basting brush to coat my pans right before adding my cake mixture and putting it in the oven and it works beautifully. I hope you guys love this stuff as much as I do!
