Cooking Instructions
- 1
This time I decided to use hot water.
Put flour in a bowl. Mix with salt - 2
Add hot water to the flour bit by bit and mix using a wooden stick to make your dough.
When the dough start forming you are able to continue using your hand.
Add some little oil and continue kneeding until dough is soft and doesnt stick to your hand. - 3
Cover the dough and let it rest for approximately 45 minutes.
- 4
Place the dough on a working space.
Cut it into small equal balls
Using a rolling pin spread each ball into a small circle apply some cooking oil.
Roll it back to a ball
Repeat the process to all balls.
This step helps in giving your chapos layer - 5
Roll the oiled ball to your preferred chapati size
Heat your pan. When ready apply very little oil. Place your chapati on the hot pan.
Dry one side for 30econds. Turn the other side and let it dry for 30 seconds. - 6
Apply oil and cook until ready. Turn to the other side and cook until it is ready.
- 7
Serve hot.

Flat Indian Bread: Chapati Flat Indian Bread: Chapati
At first I could only make tough, not very good chapatis. But by adding more water, kneading the dough well, and letting it rest, I was able to make tender and delicious ones. The amount of water indicated is a guideline only. Please adjust the amount depending on the dough. If the dough is too hard, the chapatis will be hard and dry and not very good. Even if the dough seems too soft, it will improve after resting it, so don't worry. Recipe by hinata cookpad.japan -

In Southern India, curry is eaten with rice, and in Northern India, it's eaten with naan. But throughout the country, chapati is eaten at home! They can be eaten on their own, too!!Let the dough rest a while after kneading. If there is any leftover dough, divide it into single serving amounts, wrap in plastic wrap, seal in a freezer bag, then freeze them to be able to bake up some chapati any time! Avocado Chapati (Indian Bread) Avocado Chapati (Indian Bread)
Avocado is known as Butterfruit in India. Simple and quick chapati (roti – round flat bread) recipe enhanced with use of avocados. Avocados are not easily available in India, hence this very heart health ingredient is seldom used in Indian recipes. Avocados are loaded with heart healthy fats, which are good for controlling baad cholesterol. In this recipe mashed avocados are added to the flour during the kneading process. In this manner, rotis get a unique avocado flavor and all the fat from avocado make them super soft. So this is a great way to add avocados to your family’s daily diet without any extra effort.Medium avocados are recommended for this recipe. A medium avocado averages about 5 ounces. If using smaller or larger size avocados adjust the quantity accordingly. SaranyaSenthil
