The use of black sesame paste makes this a perfect balance of sweet and nutty. Optionally mix in some black sesame seeds for more nuttiness and crunch :)

Ingredients

  1. 1 cupblack sesame paste
  2. 8 cupscrispy rice cereal
  3. 16 ozmini marshmallows (reserve 2 cups for mixing)
  4. 1 stick (8 tbsp)butter
  5. 2 tbspcondensed milk
  6. 1 tspsalt
  7. 1/2 cupblack sesame seeds (optional)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Melt the butter over medium heat. This should be done in a big enough pot where you can mix in 8 cups of cereal. Keep the paper the butter was wrapped in for later.

  2. 2

Once mostly melted, add in the marshmallows (save for the 2 cups) and the black sesame paste.

  3. 3

Take the pot off the heat once the marshmallows have melted. Mix in the salt and condensed milk.

  4. 4

Mix in the cereal, 2 cups of the remaining marshmallows, and black sesame seeds if using. Try to mix it all in before the marshmallow/butter mixture cools and hardens.

  5. 5

Pour into a 9x13 pan. Using the butter wrapper, press into an even layer. The greased paper makes it so it won’t stick. Protip!

  6. 6

Let cool for an hour before cutting. Enjoy!

Hi! My name is Ayaka and I'm a Japanese/Korean - American with a love for eating good food, which led to a passion of trying to make said good food. What started off as a necessity in college to cut costs bloomed into something I love as I kept experimenting in the kitchen. I love sharing traditional cultural recipes and recipe ideas that come at random times in the day (my first savory oats series idea came to me in the shower, which I then proceeded to make immediately after at 1am from being so excited lol).Hope you like these recipes - I'd love to know what you think of them!Watch my recipe videos here!:TikTok: @ayaeats (tiktok.com/@ayaeats)Instagram: @aya_eats_ (instagram.com/@aya_eats_)
