Ingredients

2 to 3 people
  1. 1/2 cup moong dal (split yellow lentil)
  2. 1/2 cupsugar
  3. 1/4 th cup desi ghee
  4. 1/4 th cup milk with cream
  5. 1/2 tspcardamom powder
  6. 1 pinchyellow food colour (optional)
  7. As neededchopped nuts

Cooking Instructions

    Wipe moong dal with a clean cloth then transfer into a dry mixer jar and grind to a little coarse powder

  2. 2

    Heat desi ghee in a kadai add the moong dal powder roast over medium flame until brown

  3. 3

    Lower the flame add milk mix well within few seconds the dal will absorb all the milk inside then switch flame tp medium add water little by little and continue mixing

  4. 4

    Once all water is absorbed add sugar cardamom powder and colour mix again till sugar disappears inside the halwa

  5. 5

    Add chopped nut (u can fry nuts in desi ghee separately and add too) continue to cook on medium flame add ghee and mix

  6. 6

    Cook 2 to 3 minutes again add ghee continue to cook till mixture starts becoming dry and crumbly and releases ghee from sides of pan then it is ready
