Western-style Bean Rice with Basil Western-style Bean Rice with Basil
I came up with this because I wanted to make a bean rice dish with a twist. I was really satisfied with the result. It's easy to make and it looks really nice.-This time, I used chickpeas, pinto beans, red kidney beans and edamame.-Use canned beans if you don't have much time.-Substitute half the amount of water you cook the rice in with the water left over from boiling the beans. It's really tasty.-Water left over from boiling the chickpeas has a light colour, which gives an attractive finish. Recipe by Sumireno usagi cookpad.japan -
Make Sushi Rice Abroad with Easy Ingredients Make Sushi Rice Abroad with Easy Ingredients
I came up with a sushi rice recipe using ingredients commonly available in Europe, with easy-to-remember ingredient ratios.I don't use refined white sugar, which means my sushi rice always has slight tinge to it.In Step 3, use a cutting motion to mix the rice. Over-mixing will result in mushy rice.Substitute rice vinegar for the white wine vinegar if available. Recipe by Kawakosuisu cookpad.japan -
Kubota Sake Sandwich Bread Kubota Sake Sandwich Bread
Since I'm such a lightweight, I can't drink Kubota sake, but since I want to indulge in it, too, I made this bread.I tried some fancy bread that used a 20-year-old sake lees called "kinsei" and loved it, and it got me interested in sake and sake lees.Be careful not to let the pot boil over when softening the rice. With the regular water content of sake and rice, the dough will be sticky and wet, so dust your work surface with flour, and reduce the amount of water. The photo shows the bread with 50% extra strong flour. Recipe by Osshosan cookpad.japan -

My go-to Chocolate Chip Cookies My go-to Chocolate Chip Cookies
Here's my go-to, fail-proof (so far), chocolate chip cookies that's, for some reason, senior citizen approvedIf you want your cookies to be on the crispier, harder side, cook for 13 mins. If, like me, you want your cookies to be chewy, cook for 12 mins to 12 mins and 30 seconds. Of course, this depends on how consistent your oven temp is. Ninya Pile
