Macaroni salad

A great change from ordinary pasta salad. A sweet and tangy taste that is sure to be a hit at any gathering.

Gimme a homemade macaroni salad then store bought anyday. This recipe makes a lot. It is great to take to potlucks, tailgating parties and picnics. Other optional items you can add to this recipe is tomatoes, olives, cubes of cheese, ham cubes, bacon, tuna fish. Have fun with it.

Old fashioned . . .This is the same macaroni salad that my Mom made. She was born in 1916. This recipe is that old.

I came up with this recipe while keeping the taste of the supermarket's macaroni salad in mind.It's important to wait until just before eating to mix in the yogurt.It's also delicious if you mix in some tuna or bacon.If you mix in the mayonnaise and vegetables while the macaroni is still hot, it will absorb the moisture of the macaroni and make it hard when cooled. My husband loves the macaroni salad he gets at a local vendor who sells bento bowls. This is my attempt at duplicating it.Creamy and simple.

Can use elbow macaroni, or medium shells whatever you have on hand. Very easy but very tasty.

Once again another reason this was not done earlier is because of small controversial differences. Some say pineapple and ham should go in it, some pineapple and salami, others say pineapple and spam. Well the truth be told it's none of the above. No meat no pineapple.
