Cooking Instructions

35 minutes
  1. 1

In a mixing bowl put sugar and oil. Mix well. Next add milk and mix all well till the sugar dissolves. Next add vanilla essence and mix. Next add coffee powder and salt. Whip mix again. Next take a sieve and sieve down whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda. Sieving helps areation which is very important for a spongy soft cake, else your cake will become dense.

  2. 2

Fold in all the ingredients. Add milk to adjust consistency. Keep a cake mould ready by greesing it.
Also since we are baking this without oven, we will place a baking vessel and stand. Cover it and preheat for 10 minutes at medium flame.

  3. 3

When the cake batter is ready, we will pour it into the mould, even it and tap at least twice to remove air bubbles. Now this mould is placed for baking. Bake at slow to medium hot flame for 35 minutes.
After 30 minutes once check by poking a knife. If required bake for some more time

  4. 4

When cake is ready, keep it for cooling. Prepare the chocolate fudge frosting.

  5. 5

Take a pan, heat it but it must be in slowest heat. Now put butter, chocolate bar (big slab), let them melt together. Then add a tbsp of cocoa powder and mix well. You get a homogeneous mixture. Now add fresh cream and mix again. As everything is mixed properly. Switch off.

  6. 6

Transfer the frosting to a vessel and keep it in the fridge for cooling.

  7. 7

Now cake is cooled and frosting is cooled.
Demould the cake and transfer it to a cake rotating stand. Take the fudge frosting and put on the cake on all sides. It need not be plain. The unevenness gives a nice textured look.
Now take white choco chips and dark chocolate choco chips, put on the cake. Take some silver balls and put that too.

  8. 8
  9. 9

If you want layers in the cake. Cut the cake into two equal horizontal layers. Put the frosting on the bottom layer. Then put the top layer and then again put fudge frosting and cover the entire cake.
It becomes a nice dark chocolate devil's cake with yummy chocolate indulgence.

  10. 10

Do try the recipe. It's made with wheat flour yet has a superb softness and texture even without oven and also it's baked with minimal ingredients.
