Spicy Green Pea Ghugni

This quick-to-make Ghugni with fresh green peas is a popular dish from Uttar Pradesh. It tastes even better when served with tea. Enjoying it for breakfast on a winter morning is truly delightful. Green peas are also considered good for digestion. This Ghugni, made with green peas, ginger, cilantro, green chilies, and cumin, is as easy to make as it is delicious.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
First, wash the fresh green peas for the Ghugni and cut the potato into small pieces as shown.
- 2
Grind cilantro, green chilies, and ginger in a mixer to make a green paste.
- 3
Turn on the stove, add oil to a pan, and heat it. Then add asafoetida. Now add cumin seeds, and after a few seconds, add the chopped potatoes and cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
- 4
Now add green peas and salt to the potatoes.
- 5
Cover and cook until the potatoes and peas are soft, stirring occasionally. Now add the ground green paste, turmeric powder, garam masala, etc.
- 6
Mix everything well.
- 7
Cook for another 2 minutes, then garnish with cilantro and turn off the stove.
- 8
You can add lemon juice instead of amchur powder to the green pea Ghugni.

Mushroom Peas Masala Mushroom Peas Masala
#reststyle - Mushroom and green peas are a good combination and is a common dish found in most of the restaurants. In fact it is my favourite dish when visiting any restaurant. It is a great side dish with plain steamed rice, jeera rice, pulao, plain biryani, naan, tandoori roti, kulcha or just plain chapati. I sometimes have it with dosa, appam or idiyappam. They taste just great. Bethica Das -
