Ingredients

30 minutes
2 serving
  1. 1 cupMoong Dal
  2. 3/4 cupghee
  3. 3/4 cupsugar
  4. 1.5 cupwater
  5. 1 tspgreen cardamon powder
  6. 2 tspchopped dry fruits

Cooking Instructions

30 minutes
  1. 1

Wash and soak moong dal for at least 3-4 hrs. Else you can soak over night.

  2. 2

Drain and grind the moong dal to a smooth paste with very little water. Make a thick batter like consistency.

  3. 3

Melt ghee in a pan and add ground dal in it. Stir to mix well. When stirring and mixing the mixture in the kadai, it started sticking so much to the iron kadai. So, I shifted the mixture to a non-stick kadai. It was very easy to stir the halwa.

  4. 4

First the mixture is pasty. Next, it becomes lumpy. Then, it breaks down and separates with the fat releasing from the sides and looks granular. Now add milk, water and sugar and keep on stirring.

  5. 5

Finally, you will see that ghee is released and you got halwa texture then add cardamon powder and chopped dry fruits and transfer in a serving bowl and enjoy!!!
