Ingredients

  1. 1 cupsplit green gram skinless/dhuli moong ki dal
  2. 1 cupghee
  3. 3/4 cupkhoya/mawa
  4. 1 cupsugar
  5. 1.5 cupswater
  6. 1 cupmilk
  7. 1/4 tspcardamom powder
  8. 10-12raisins
  9. 8-10cashews chopped
  10. 1 tspchopped cashews for garnishing

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak moong dal overnight in enough water

  2. 2

    Drain and grind the moong dal to a slightly coarse paste without using water

  3. 3

    Heat ghee in a non stick pan

  4. 4

    Add moong dal paste and mix well

  5. 5

    Reduce the flame to low and saute stirring continuously till golden brown

  6. 6

    Heat sugar and water in another pan

  7. 7

    Cook till sugar dissolves completely

  8. 8

    Add milk to moong dal and mix well

  9. 9

    Add khoya, cardamom powder, cashews, raisins and sugar syrup

  10. 10

    Mix well and cook on low flame for 5 minutes

  11. 11

    Switch off the flame and transfer in a serving dish

  12. 12

    Garnish with cashews and serve hot
