The origin of this recipe
I thought this combination might work well in miso soup, so I decided to try it out.

I rearranged a surinagashi soup (made with dashi and ground up ingredients) to a warm miso soup.I use strong bonito flake dashi soup and thinly flavor it with miso. If it doesn't have a strong dashi flavour, it tastes like baby food.Step 1: Once you add the potato, simmer while stirring. If you leave it, it will get thick and chunky at the bottom of the pot. I've been making this since my children were small. They've been great for days when they don't have an appetite in the morning. If you add some onion at Step 2, the soup will become more hearty and tasty. I make dashi stock by adding a dashi powder bag, as described in Step 2. If you have some premade dashi stock you don't need the dashi pack. For about 3 servings. Recipe by Majuju cookpad.japan -

Chinese Cabbage and Tuna Miso Soup Chinese Cabbage and Tuna Miso Soup
I love tuna and often have it simmered with Chinese cabbage, but I wondered if it would be good as miso soup, too.You can use dashi stock instead of water + dashi granules of course. Since plenty of flavor comes from the tuna, you can probably use less miso than usual. For 3 servings. Recipe by HAL.M cookpad.japan
