"Chow" means stir fried, and "mein" means noodles in mandarin. Inspired by a clip on youtube. I find it very delicious.

4 servings
  1. Chicken and the marinade
  2. 400 gramschicken
  3. 2 tsp5 spice
  4. 2 tspsambol olek
  5. 2 tbspsoy
  6. 1/2 tbspcorn flour
  7. Noodles
  8. 200 gramsnoodles
  9. 1 literwater
  10. 1 tspsesame oil
  11. Final mix
  12. 2 tspsesame oil
  13. 1 largered bellpepper
  14. 100 gramsbean sprouts
  15. 2 tbspless salty soy sauce
  16. 3 largespringonions

Cooking Instructions

20 mins
  1. 1

Cut the chicken into thin slices. Add the 5 spice, sambol olek (or other chili sauce) and the soy sauce. Then the corn flour. And give it a good mix. Put it aside for about 10 minutes.

  2. 2

Boil the noodles for a couple of minutes. The time depends on what kind of noodles you use. I use eggnoodles, and it is about 3 minutes. When done, remove it from the hot water and put it under cold water, to stop it from cooking. Then add the sesame oil, to secure the noodles from not sticking together.

  3. 3

Put the chicken into your wok under high heat with the sesame oil, and fry it. Add the noodles. Give it a good mix. Then add the bell pepper, the bean sprouts and the less salty soy sauce. Give it a good mix again. Finally add the spring onions. Just mix it gently and warm for a minute.

  4. 4

Enjoy a great traditional Chinese meal.
