Cherry toast

Most kids hate fruits. Trust me on that. But they can't say no to honey, jam on a toast. So i thought of a way to make my little ones have their favorite breakfast but at the same time eating fruits as well. And they love it.

Just threw something together for a quick snack. Yet, something sweet.

I've made no secret of the fact that I can't bake. Which is unfortunate, because freshly baked cinnamon buns, with or without cream cheese frosting, are among my very, very favourite foods. So I made this dessert to compensate, at least a little. It's sweet, it's buttery, it's cinnamony, it's pretty darned good. The observant may notice that the recipe calls for 9 slices of bread, but the picture only shows 6 toasts. That's because my daughter swiped 3 while I was setting up the photo. If that's not an endorsement, I don't know what is.

I find it overwhelming if both sides are buttered so I put butter, sugar, and cinnamon on only one side of the bread. The measurement of the butter, sugar, and cinnamon would depend on your preference. :) I don't have a toaster so I use pan instead.

The chikuwa bread sold in my neighborhood was on TV, so I decided to try it. I thought it was delicious, but thought it was lacking in something. So after that, I used up 3 packs (12 sticks) of chikuwa to experiment.Sesame oil is a key ingredient! Please top with as much sesame seeds as you like! You can even top it with onions.
