Ingredients

  1. 4 cupsflour
  2. 4 tablespoonbutter
  3. 1 tablespoonyeast
  4. 3eggs
  5. 1 tablespoonsslt
  6. 1 cupwarm milk
  7. 1/4 cupsugar

Cooking Instructions

    Dissolve two spoon of sugar, yeast and the warm milk in a bowl with lid and allow till the yeast has bubbles on it

    In a bowl, sieve flour, add salt, sugar and the butter and rub until butter is not visible.

    Beat two eggs, make a well and rub it together with the flour.

    Add the yeast and continue to rub until a smooth dough is formed.

    Transfer to a floured surface and knead more until smooth.

    Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a nylon. Keep in a warm place to rise for one hour.

    Deflate and knead on a floured surface.

    Divide as desired and roll into balls and place on a buttered baking tray. space appropriately.

    Break the remaining egg and brush the surface with it. Place in a preheated oven. (For that extra shine I always rebrush the surface with egg after 10mins in the oven) Allow to bake for 30 to 45 mins depending on the oven. Sometimes, I add sardines to it too.
