Methi Chicken is a simple and delectable creamy chicken curry with fenugreek or methi leaves, yoghurt and lots of cream. While methi is a leafy vegetable available mostly in winters I have used kasuri methi which is easily available at the market. This dish is extremely popular at every household but I whip it up real fast with minimal spices in an extremely hassle free way.
I must mention that though I refrain myself from adding much of the cream for health reasons yet it uplifts the taste to an extremely good level. Enjoy eating!

Ingredients

  1. 6 pieces(preferably with bones) of chicken
  2. 1big chopped onion
  3. 2 teaspoonginger garlic paste
  4. 2 teaspoon of fresh cream beaten
  5. 1chopped tomato
  6. 2 tablespoon yoghurt
  7. 1 tablespoonkasuri methi
  8. as per tasteSalt
  9. 1 inchcinnamon
  10. 4 cloves
  11. 2 podsgreen cardamom
  12. 3 tablespoonvegetable oil

Cooking Instructions

    Heat oil in a pan and as it heats up add the whole garam masalas whacked. As they splutter add the chopped onions and sauté well. Add the tomatoes chopped and cook till they soften. Add the chicken pieces and cook on high flame till they change their colour.

    Add salt and garlic ginger paste. Sauté well. Add yoghurt after beating it well and cook on simmer covered till the chicken is cooked. Add the fresh cream and sauté well. Dry roast the kasuri methi on a tawa and add them crushed with your palm. Immediately cover it to lock the smell of the kasuri methi. Serve with roti, naan or paratha.
