For Bentos: Cucumber and Ham Rollups

cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp
To fill gaps in a bento....
Don't try to poke through these with toothpicks or bento picks to secure them. They seem to hold up better in a bento box on their own.
The cucumber is very thin, so be careful not to rip it when you're rolling it up. For 2 rolls. Recipe by Mikapachiko
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cut two thin slices off a cucumber with a slicer or peeler.
- 2
Cut the ham to the same width as the cucumber slices. Roll them up together.

I use pork a lot, so bits and pieces of leftovers accumulate in my freezer.Using a recipe that calls for vinegar as reference, I thought of this.Since then, I have been able to use up my pork without any waste!- If the meat from Step 4 is long or large, cut it in half and then use it. The meat should ideallybe just a bit charred.- For the shiro-dashi, you can use stock granules dissolved in hot water. Recipe by Makitoin

I thought that meat-wrapped eggs might be as good as meat wrapped onigiri, so I gave them a try. They were really good! They were great in a bento! (Only use very fresh eggs.)If you don't flour the eggs twice at Steps 2 and 4, the meat will come off them.I recommend using large pieces of thinly sliced beef such as sukiyaki beef.
