Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 2 cupsoil, for frying
  2. 4steamed idli cut into halves
  3. marination
  4. 2 teaspoonschilli powder
  5. 2 tablespoonsginger garlic paste
  6. 1 teaspoonpepper
  7. 1 teaspoonsalt
  8. 2 tablespoonssoy sauce
  9. 1/2 cupflour (60 g)
  10. 1/2 cupcornflour (60 g)
  11. 1 tablespoonchilli powder
  12. 1egg
  13. 1/4 cupwater (60 mL)
  14. For garnishing
  15. 1 cupmozzarella cheese
  16. 1/4 cupfried noodles
  17. 1/4 cupspring onion
  18. 1 tbsptomato sauce
  19. 1 tspmayonnaise

Steps

  1. 1

    Add all the marination ingredients to a bowl and mix until fully combined, set aside.

  2. 2

    Slice the idli into halves.

  3. 3

    Dip the idli halves in the marination prepared and coat it properly.

  4. 4

    Leave the idli in the marination for sometime.

  5. 5

    Now insert lollipop sticks to each of the idli.

  6. 6

    Keep oil in a kadai for boiling. Once oil is hot start frying the idli lollipops.

  7. 7

    Place the idle on a plate and garnish it with spring onion, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, and mozzarella cheese.

  8. 8

    Serve it with some fried noodles and with schezwan chutney.
