2 1/2 cupsall-purpose flour (about 315 grams)
2 cupssugar (about 400 grams)
2/3 cupcocoa powder (about 55 grams)
1 teaspoonsalt
1 teaspoonbaking soda
2 cupswater (about 475 ml)
2/3 cupcorn oil (about 160 ml)
2 teaspoonsvanilla extract (liquid or powder)
2 teaspoonsvinegar

Steps

Sift the flour and cocoa powder into a bowl.

Add the remaining ingredients in any order and mix with a whisk; you don't need a mixer.

Once everything is well combined, the batter will have a nice chocolate mousse texture.

Grease a cake pan with vegetable or regular butter and pour in the batter.

Bake at 355°F (180°C) for 40-45 minutes.
