Ingredients

  1. 4 cupsflour
  2. 2 tablespoonsyeast
  3. 1/2 cupsugar
  4. 1/3 cupoil
  5. 1egg
  6. 2 table spoonmilk
  7. 1 1/2-2 cupswater
  8. Enough oil for frying

Steps

    Add in sugar to your sieved flour in a large bowl, yeast, milk,oil and egg

  2. 2

    Use your hands to mix thoroughly. Keep rubbing the flour in between your palms until a crumbly mixture is formed. Ensure the mixture is well combined

  3. 3

    Then add in the water little by little do not pour the water at once because you do not want your dough getting too soft.

  4. 4

    Gradually pour the rest of the water as you knead. Knead your dough very well once you finish adding the water for atleast 30 minutes(until the dough is soft,elastic and very smooth).
    KNEAD VERY WELL!

    Please ensure you knead well. There's no shortcuts for that step. You have to knead to get a soft fluffy doughnut

  6. 6

    Cover your dough and place it in a warm place until it doubles in size.

  7. 7

    Punch out the air and mould 14 perfect circles. Cover these 14 dough cut outs and allow them to rise again for further 15 minutes or until they double in size.

  8. 8

    Lastly deep fry them in hot oil until both sides are golden brown. Do not over crowd the pan when frying. Also regulate the heat the oil shouldn't be too hot.
    Remove from the oil and strain excess oil in a colander while allowing them to cool down before eating.

    You can sugar coat the doughnuts by dumping them directly into a bowl of granulated sugar immediately after frying.
    *You can also glaze the top with your favourite glaze.
    *Or serve them plain 😋 with a cup of cold drink.
