Steps

1.Add 3/4 cup cooking oil in pot on medium flame.
2.Add onion and fry them nicely then add cumin seeds fry and add water so that masala doesn't stick to pan. - 2
Now add chicken,with ginger garlic paste or powder
fry it nicely. keep stiring.
Add all whole spices and fry well
***Take out cardamom if you don't like chewing them while eating rice - 3
Add potatoes and fry them add water, cover and let them cook for 5 minutes on low flame..Now add other vegetables cook for 3 to 5 minutes on low flame.
Add green chilies and fry
them for 2 minutes on medium flame. - 4
.Now add soaked rice and 2 cups of water.

I added half cup of water along with rice and 2 cups after adding rice. I used 3 cups of basmati rice and 2.5 cups of water.
After adding water to rice let it boil once and then check salt and add salt as require at this stage and mix them - 6
Now cover the pot let the rice cook on medium flame for 10 to 12 minutes.

Vegetable Chicken Rice is ready to serve.
