Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cupssifted flour (about 175 grams)
  2. 7 tablespoonsbutter (about 100 grams)
  3. 1egg
  4. 1/2 cupplus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (about 100 grams)
  5. 1 teaspoonground ginger
  6. 1 pinchsalt
  7. 1/2 teaspoonbaking powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoonvanilla extract
  9. 1/2 cupfinely chopped walnuts (about 50 grams)

Steps

    Beat the butter with the sugar, vanilla, and egg until you get a smooth mixture.

  2. 2

    Gradually add the flour, baking powder, salt, and ginger, and mix well. Add the walnuts and form a dough ball, then let it rest in the refrigerator for a few hours.

  3. 3

    Roll out the dough to a thickness of 1/2 inch and coat each disc with sugar. Place on greased and floured baking sheets.

  4. 4

    Preheat the oven to 400°F and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
