Wash and soak chana dal for 1 hour. Then drain off the water completely. Allow it to dry on a kitchen towel for couple of hours or till dry.

Heat oil and deep fry in batches till crispy. Take a bowl add red chilli powder, salt and black salt. Mix well. Spread it over the fried chana dal and mix it. Your namkeen chana dal is ready.
