Modur Pulav

Modur pulav is a sweet pulav from the state of Kashmir. This pulav has dry fruits, sugar, milk and saffron. The amount of sugar is very little so that it can even be served along with the regular meals. This pulav can be served with any kind of vegetarian or non vegetarian curries. This is a very different kind of pulav which tastes really delicious.

Modur pulav is a sweet pulav from the state of Kashmir. This pulav has dry fruits, sugar, milk and saffron. Wash basmati rice for 3 to 4 times with clean water and soak it in water for 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a pot and add all the whole spices and saute it. Now add almond, cashew nuts, raisins and dry dates. Mix everything well and add sugar to it. Now add Saffron and milk to it and mix everything well.

When milk starts to boil, add soaked rice to it after draining the water from it. Add salt. Mix everything well and add 2 cups of water and get one boil. Now cover the pot and cook it on low to medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Check in between if you feel water is less than little bit of water can be added and then again cover and cook it until it is done. When the rice is cooked well, turn off the heat.

Modur pulav can be served with vegetarian or non vegetarian curries.
