Steps

Wash the sardines along with salt and turmeric till the smell goes off. Take a bowl with hot water soak red chillies for about half an hour. Once chillies turn soft it to smooth paste along with tamarind, turmeric, Salt and garlic.

Coat the fish with the ground masala and marinate for about 1hour.

Heat the pan keep on banana leaf and apply oil and place the fish on banana leaf and cook.Flip the fishes on to another side and cook for another few mins on low flame.(shallow fry) After cook, serve hot with rice and dal.
