Dalgona Candy : The Korean Street Candy

This is one of the most popular & traditional sugar or squid candys/lollipops recipes from the land-
I’d tasted these, directly from the natives- while a few of them (both hailing from the N & S Korea) were under my tutelage in one of the leading Universities in Bangalore, in the pre-pandemic era- 2019…
That’s a gift to me by the students on the aforesaid year’s 5th September ie. on the very occasion of the Teachers’ Day…
Trust me, I truly had fallen in love with it
Made once at home too, post all were finished-
Unfortunately, I wasn’t a member of the Cookpad Family then hence, no pics of the same have been kept in my archives-
In a way, it’s good enough to get the opportunity to recreate it once more, this is my 2nd time hands-on try on it though but I’m glad to do it & binge on it again, recalling my old fond memories with my Korean Students...

Steps
- 1
In a aforementioned Tadka Pan, over the medium-low flame-
Add in a tbsp of sugar & allow it to caramelise lightly without burning it by any means & then add into it, a pinch of the Baking Soda & a pinch of coffee powder (if you’re using it like me), while stirring continuously & vigorously
Now, gently pour it onto the work station (greased) or butter paper - 2
Immediately press the skewer/stick onto it & give the impressions of your choice with any of your choicest cookie cutters (pre-greased as well) Alternatively, you can sprinkle some Baking Soda on your work station instead of greasing it & to the cookie cutters too, by which you intend to put the impressions- Garnish it your own way-
Now, just Gooooooo & Grab’em before, it all gets over
