Ingredients

30 mins
4 servings
  • for the kadhi-
  • 2 Tbspgram flour/besan
  • 1/2 cupthick sour curd
  • as per tasteSalt
  • 1/3 tspturmeric powder
  • 1/3 tspred chilli powder
  • 1 tspsambar masala
  • 4 cupswater
  • Fortempering the kadhi-
  • 1 tspmustard seeds+cumin seeds+fennel seeds
  • 2 pincheshing powder
  • 2dry red chillies
  • 6-7curry leaves
  • 1 Tbspminced garlic
  • 1 Tspchopped onion
  • 1chopped green chilli
  • 1 Tbspcooking oil for tempering
  • For pakora-
  • 1 cupgram flour/ besan
  • 2 tbspchopped onion
  • 1/2 tspginger paste
  • 1green chilli chopped
  • 1 pinchturmeric powder
  • 1 pinchsoda bi carb
  • 1/2 tspoil
  • As requiredOil to deep fry

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix all the ingredients of pakora. Add water little at a time to make thick batter. Make round pakoras and deep fry in medium heat oil. Set the pakoras aside.

    Mix the ingredients under 'For Kadhi' section above. Heat a pan with 1Tbsp oil. Add mustard, cumin and fennel seeds and let them splutter. Add hing powder. Add and saute minced garlic.

    Add red chilli and curry leaves. Saute till getting aroma of curry leaves. Mix garlic and saute till golden.

    Add onions and fry till translucent. Mix the curd mixture and add 4 cup of water and let it boil.

    Add the prepared pakoras and allow to cook for 3 minutes. Switch off the flame. Kadhi Pakora is ready to serve with steamed rice.
