I tried making these because I heard that in the UK, they cook bread dough in the frying pan.
I used my oven's proving function for the rising. You could also let the dough rise by other methods, such as putting it in front of the stove or in a bowl placed in hot water. Recipe by Hokkaido farmer

Sift the cake flour into a bowl, and mix in the yeast, sugar, and salt. Heat the milk until warm to the touch, then mix it in.

Let the dough sit at 28℃ for 40 minutes until it doubles in size.

Heat the oil in a frying pan, pour the dough into the pan in flat rounds 10 cm in diameter, and cook over low heat. Flip them over when holes start to appear on the surface.

Slice them into bite-sized pieces and serve with butter, jam or your choice of toppings.
