Hina Doll's Day Character Bento Rice Balls

I made this bento box for my daughter.
She requested the "Hina doll bento," so I made the faces only, using whatever I had in my refrigerator.

If you think making the fan or crown is too much work, you can use a decorative food pick.
It will be even easier. Recipe by sky_s0417

Ingredients

1 serving
  1. 1Ham
  2. 1use as much (to taste) Hot cooked white rice
  3. 1Sugar snap peas
  4. 1 dashHam
  5. 1 dashNori seaweed

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

I used the ham in the picture this time.

  2. 2

Slice the ham into your preferred thickness.

  3. 3

Cut the nori seaweed into a circle matching the size of the ham.

  4. 4

Cut the nori seaweed into half to make the hair for the dolls.

  5. 5

Cut out the ham with a flower shaped cookie cutter. You can also use another pink ingredient such as kamaboko.

  6. 6

Cut off the bottom of the flower shaped ham as in the picture. With the end of a straw, make holes to make the empress's crown. You can also cut the ham into a triangle and use it as her fan.

  7. 7

Cut out the cooked sugar snap peas to make the emperor's crown and scepter.

  8. 8

Cut out another piece just like in the picture, and join the two parts to make a crown. You can use the snow peas or green pepper as well.

  9. 9

The one on the right will be the empress and the one on the left will be the emperor.

  10. 10

Make two round rice balls and place them in cupcake liners.

  11. 11

Assemble the parts on the rice balls. Cut out the eyes, noses and mouths from the nori seaweed and finish making the faces. I added cheeks that are made with the cutout red wiener sausage.

  12. 12

I used this nori punch to make the parts for the faces, and scissors to make the hair.

  13. 13

To make this even easier, you can simply place the faces onto a bed of rice.
