Custard and Dates Halwa

An awesome Dessert idea by me for iftaar time friends. I had made this for Iftaar as well in Ramadan. Have a look at it and decide upon it at your next iftaar meal with your loved ones. I tell you it is damn easy and pretty much satisfying one at that. The best part is, it is made with Dates and hence you literally cut down on Sugars that are harmful in many ways than one. Go for a guilt free Dessert this festive season with this gorgeous one that looks lovely and eye catching on your table.
Though I had first made it for Iftaar meals but it has now become a constant feature in my home.
I make this very often and is an excellent option for an aftermeal Dessert. Kids will definitely want more of it. So let's get started.
Happy Dessert Time Everyone!
Happy Festive Season !

Steps
- 1
Bring milk to a rolling boil at first. Lower the flame after it starts boiling vigorously.
- 2
Add pitted dates and condensed milk now. Simmer it for 10-12 minutes keeping it covered partially. Mix custard powder in plain water as required and add it to the milk. Keep stirring it until it is mixed well.
- 3
Allow it to simmer until the dates are blended in nicely. Add fresh cream and slivered nuts of your choice. Garnish with more pitted dates for a lovely look. Enjoy this yummy Dessert on any day or on important occasions with your family and friends alike.
