Steps
- 1
Mix 1 bowl coconut grated, jaggery powder as per taste and 1 tsp cardamom powder in a kadai.Heat it till it mixes properly and becomes dry.
- 2
In another vessel take 200gms wheat flour, a pinch salt, little jaggery powder and make a paste adding water little by little. (You can skip jaggery powder here...but if the filling is insufficient the edges will be bland. So it is better to add a little jaggery powder). The paste must not be too liquid. It should be similar to idli dough.
- 3
Wash, wipe and cut turmeric leaves to the same size.
- 4
Pour a little wheat flour paste on each leaf. Spread it all over the leaf by tilting the leaf.
- 5
Keep little jaggery coconut mixture in a line in the center of the leaf.
- 6
Fold the leaf along the center. Keep it in a flat bowl and steam for 20 minutes.
- 7
Serve with little ghee.
