A homemade fluffy Labneh full of healthy Vitamins and Probiotics is a treat par excellence. It is a soft Middle Eastern Cheese made from extra strained Yoghurt. A yummy superfood for people of all ages to kickstart their day with a new zeal and enthusiasm. This is soft on stomach and people with Lactose intolerance also can enjoy it to the fullest. Although it tastes yummy on it's own, it can be used with many variations.
Olive Oil, Za'atar and Thyme are a few of them. I had shared Herb Labneh Canapes on my profile earlier and have attached it here for you all to have a look.
Labneh or Labane or Lebanah or Lebnah, this is basically Yogurt Cheese. Much softer than Greek Yogurt or Hung Curd. And for a more clear insight, it is extra strained Yoghurt. This is a bit tangy and softer too. It is mostly Savoury.

And is absolutely a lot more healthier option than standard Cream Cheese in all ways. And Greek Yogurt is made from Goat Milk whereas Labneh is made from Cow's Milk. It's more thicker than Greek Yogurt.
Add this to Salads, Sandwiches, Pitas, Pizzas and more.
You will love this for sure. Do try it and see for yourselves.

Enjoy No Cooking with Zeen!
Happy Feasting !

Steps

24 hours
  1. 1

To a cheesecloth or a muslin cloth, add the fresh Curd and keep that in a strainer underneath which in turn is kept a bowl to collect the Whey.

  2. 2

Keep it in the refrigerator if the weather is too hot or at room temperature if it is cold. Leave that for a day or almost 24 hours. This is a must. That is why we call it an extra strained Yogurt. Whereas Greek Yogurt or Hung Curd, this is not the case. Therefore it is much creamier and thick.

  3. 3

Remove and use it as desired. Use in Wraps. Use as a Spread on Sandwiches or Rolls. Use it as a Dip for various Munchies. The list is long. It's all upto you to relish this beautiful and creamy Labneh.

  4. 4

Mix it with Herbs, Olive Oil and Za'atar. Mix a little Salt or use as it is. It tastes awesome both the ways.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
