Valentine's Day Pink Brownies

I kept thinking about how to add a beautiful pink colour to the brownies. I've baked a white cake from egg whites before, so I took a tip from the recipe, "Egg Whites Only Lemon Cake without Egg Yolks". I guarantee the taste!

If you don't have white chocolate chips, finely chop a white chocolate bar. If you add jam only, the colour will be dull and not pink enough.
Your house will be filled with a nice aroma from the oven during and after baking. Recipe by Asamato

Ingredients

6 servings
  1. 3Egg white (M)
  2. 100 gramsWhite flour
  3. 100 gramsButter
  4. 100 gramsStrawberry jam
  5. 100 gramsWhite chocolate chip
  6. 60 gramsSugar
  7. 1/2 tspBaking powder
  8. 1slightly more than a spoonful of the attached spoon Red food colouring

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Dissolve food colouring in one teaspoon of water. Line parchment sheet in a square pan. Preheat the oven to 170℃.

  2. 2

Add sugar to the egg white and mix well until white. No need to whip.

  3. 3

Add jam and food colouring, and mix well.

  4. 4

Sift in the flour and baking powder, and mix.

  5. 5

Add melted butter by trickling it from a spatula into the bowl, and mix. Add half of the chocolate chips.

  6. 6

Pour the mixture into the pan. Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips on top.

  7. 7

Bake in a preheated 340°F/170°C oven for about 30 minutes. Poke a skewer in the brownie, and if it's clean, the brownie is done.

  8. 8

You don't need to melt the chocolate. Even so, this brownie has a strong chocolate flavour. I think this version is tastier than normal brown chocolate brownies.

  9. 9

I used natural food dyes for this. It is pale and gentle beige pink. This colour might be not pink enough.

  10. 10

I used red food coloring for the brownie above. The color is not too strong, so I recommend to use food coloring for this recipe.
