Ingredients

  1. 1.5 cupchopped palak
  2. 1medium boiled potato, mashed
  3. For the batter
  4. 1 cupbesan
  5. 2 Tbsprice flour
  6. 1/2 tspcrushed carom seeds (ajwain)
  7. 1/4 tsphing powder
  8. 1/2 tspkashmiri chilli powder
  9. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  10. as per taste Salt
  11. 1/2 tspsugar
  12. 1 tspgrated ginger
  13. 1 tspgrated garlic cloves
  14. 1/4 cupchopped onion
  15. 1 tspchopped green chillies
  16. 1/2 tspPav Bhaji masala powder
  17. 1/5 tspcooking soda
  18. 1 Tbspcooking oil
  19. as neededWater
  20. as neededOil for deep frying

Steps

  1. 1

    Chop the leafy part of palak. Use stem part in dal /paratha /will french beans, potato fry.

  2. 2

    Mix the dry ingredients with besan, as shown below.

  3. 3

    Mix rest other ingredients as shown in photo.

  4. 4

    Add oil and make the besan mixture crumbs like.

  5. 5

    Add chopped onion, mashed potatoes and chopped palak. Add water to make thick batter. Rest for 15 minutes.

  6. 6

    Heat oil. Check if the oil is hot with a little batter.

  7. 7

    Make pops as you like and deep fry them in medium to low flame from all sides. Serve the crispy, delicious Palak Pakoda with Mayo and Tomato Sauce.
