Add urad dal water in a bowl. Wash, drain and soak with water 1hour.

After 1hour, drain and add soaked urad dal into the blender with 1/4cup of water and blend it to smooth paste.

Next transfer into the bowl. Then add Ragi flour, salt and 1cup water and mix it well. Cover and keep it aside for fermentation for 8hours or overnight.

After fermentation you are ready to use.

When the batter is ready pour some water in your steamer. Bring it to boil.

Take the idli plate grease some oil it. And pour the batter in the moulds.

When the water to boil open the lid and place the Ragi idli plate in it.

Cover and steam for 10 minutes. Then switch off the flame and allow to cool.

Dip the edge of a spoon in water and remove the Ragi idli using it.

Serve Ragi idli hot with chutney sambar etc.
