Add ghee to a pan and heat it. Add the chickpea flour and roast until fragrant. Then add the semolina and roast together.

When the mixture turns light golden, remove from heat. In a separate pan, make a sugar syrup. Once the syrup is ready, gradually add the roasted flour mixture, stirring to combine.

Keep stirring until the syrup is absorbed and the mixture thickens to a fudge-like consistency. Turn off the heat.

Grease a tray with ghee. Pour the barfi mixture into the tray and spread it evenly. Use a knife to cut into pieces as you like, then let it set for 1 hour.

Your besan barfi is ready. Serve to guests or enjoy with your family.
