A mooncake is a Chinese bakery product traditionally eaten during the Mid-Autumn Festival. The festival is about lunar appreciation and Moon watching, and mooncakes are regarded as a delicacy. Mooncakes are offered between friends or on family gatherings while celebrating the festival. The Mid-Autumn Festival is widely regarded as one of the four most important Chinese festivals.
Here is my version of moon Cakes.

Ingredients

25 minutes
8-10 servings
  • 500 gfine semolina
  • 150 gmelted butter
  • 1/2 cupoil
  • 1 1/2 cupall-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cuppowder milk
  • 1 cuppowdered sugar
  • 1/2tesp baking powder
  • 1/4 cupmilk
  • Pinchsalt
  • 1tesp vanilla extract
  • (Yeast Mixture)
  • 1tesp sugar
  • 1tesp yeast
  • 1/4 cupmilk
  • 200 gadd soft dates
  • 200 gWalnuts

Steps

25 minutes
  1. 1

    Take a bowl add semolina with melted butter and oil.

    Mix well then cover it for overnight. Take a cup add yeast, sugar & milk leave till foamy surface.

    Add sifted flour and yeast Mixture in it. Mix with hands properly till all combined.

    Make small portions of all the dough. Chopperized seedless dates and walnuts together. Take a dough ball flatten it then set the dates ball inside (filling). Put into Mamoul or moon Cakes molds.

    Set into baking tray and bake at 170° for 20 minutes or till edges turn golden. Tasty moon Cakes are ready 💕
